Welcome

It gives me great pride to introduce myself as the Headteacher of Thwaites School. It has been an ambition of mine, throughout my teaching career, to lead a small village school, and it is an honour to have been given the opportunity at Thwaites School. As your Headteacher, I am very excited to work alongside all stakeholders in the school to further develop the school’s ambitions, as well as continue to establish Thwaites School as a hub of Hallthwaites and the wider community.

Thwaites School has a fantastic team of school staff whose enthusiasm, dedication and energy in delivering the best school day possible aims to ensure all children’s needs are met on every level, every day. The children themselves demonstrate high expectations of themselves, not only academically, but also in their behaviour and attitude. A love of learning is evident throughout school. With a committed board of governors, who bring a wealth of experience, supporting the school in their goals and engaged parents and families working alongside us, Thwaites School is in an excellent position to grow and develop into the future.

As a school, it is our goal to provide the perfect learning environment to nurture and develop our children so that they are well-prepared for the world that awaits them. Our aim is to deliver our carefully planned curriculum that links perfectly with the local area, both its nature and community, as well as nationally and internationally, with educational experiences dedicated to specific curriculum areas as well as visitors, trips and residential stays to bolster learning and build character. Throughout the year, we hold special events to build stronger ties with the community and create long-lasting memories with our children, parents and wider community members.

We are a very welcoming school and are always ready to show the world what we have to offer. If you would like to visit and see this wonderful school for yourself, then please call the Thwaites School office and arrange a date and time.
